Simisola Bolatito Ogunleye, popularly known as Simi is a singer and songwriter who has found her feet in the Nigerian music industry.

She was ten when she wrote her first tune and she had sang as a member of the teenage church choir has finally broken free to produce some great songs like ‘Jamb Question’ , ‘Love don’t care’ etc..

Simi was a kind of a tomboy while growing up because she had three elder brothers and from her mum. she was the only girl and last born.

“So I used to like sneakers, baggy jeans etc. My dad spoilt my brothers and I, but it was fun. When I was nine years, my parents separated and so that was really a tough time for us, because we had to grow up faster. We came through it and we are okay.” She said.

A lot of ladies enjoy taking their baths but Simi has a different view about taking bath, it is very annoying to her.

She said about her annoying routine:

“That will be taking my bath. It’s not that I don’t like bathing but I love to multi-task. At times I might be brushing my teeth while also operating my system or reading. But when you get into the bathroom, you just can’t do any other thing.”

Adekunle Gold Postpones Album Release Date, Set To Drop Debut Album After Ramadan

‘Orente’ crooner, Adekunle Gold, has broken the hearts of many after announcing that his highly anticipated debut album will not be released on earlier said date.

The talented singer, gave the Ramadan holiday as his excuse for not dropping the album giving the fact that most muslims will not be able to listen to the songs because of Ramadan.

The album, which was earlier slated to drop on June 1, will now be released the following month, which is July.

Speaking about the album on Now O’ Clock podcast hosted by Wole, he said:

I am pushing it forward a bit because of Ramadan, it was supposed to drop for June 1 before, but apparently it occurred to me that my muslim friends don’t listen to music during Ramadan, so it makes sense to push it forward because of them as well, so by God’s grace in July after Ramadan, and all of us can enjoy it together.

Some days back, Adekunle Gold, was rumored to be planning his exit from YBNL, once his album drops. According to some sources, the ‘Sade’ crooner might be starting his own record label.

There has always been rumours that both have been beefing but with these latest pictures, it puts those rumours to death.

Wizkid and Davido have been nominated for the MAMA’s award, while only Davido and Tiwa Savage will be representing Nigeria at the BET Awards.

– Following new photos currently making the rounds, sources say Tiwa and Wizkid have shot the video for Bad off her latest album R.E.D.

Mavin Records star Tiwa Savage has been spotted with Nigeria’s shining pop star Wizkid and their photo together is currently buzzing across the internet.

On Thursday, May 19, the Eminado singer shared some photos from a video location but the exact details of the project aren’t clear as at this point. Whatever the case, the fans love the fact Tiwa has risen from the setbacks of her recent marital issues into making music and entertaining. Similarly, the singer was spotted with Funke Akindele on the set of popular comedy TV series Jenifa’s Diary on Wednesday, May 4. Recall that the music star had an unforgettable situation with ex-husband Tunji ‘Tee Billz’ Balogun on Thursday, April 28 after he took to Instagram and shared several private details of their affair, an act that caused a major uproar online and across the media. In return, Tiwa Savage conducted an all-revealing interview on April 29 in which she revealed several messy details about her relationship with (ex) husband Tee Billz. Following the dramas in the wake of their (collapsed) marriage, we outlined five major reasons the 36-year-old mother of one will bounce back in no time, controversies regardless. And our predictions have been spot on as Tiwa has taken everything in her stride. 

Though details surrounding the new photos of Tiwa and Wizkid remain unclear. We reached the Mavin Records singer’s camp for details on the situation in a bid to get more clarity. According to sources, the video shoot is for a song off her R.E.D. album which dropped in 2015 and an insider at her management confirmed this to us. Speaking on the condition of anonymity, the source stated that both singers were on location to shoot the video for Bad, an awesome piece which was part of the deluxe version of the album which she dropped in February, 2016.

He said: “Oh man, see the thing is we aren’t saying anything officially about those photos and the video shoot yet. It’s really surprising that people have already picked up the photos [which show Tiwa on a video location with Wizkid] and have started making news off them. “Anyways, the truth of it is that a video has been shot and the song for which the video was shot is Bad off Tiwa’s album R.E.D. “The video was shot in Lagos and directed by Sesan Ogunro. The management just decided to make it happen real quick seeing as Wizkid is in town briefly and a video for the song was overdue. “But we will be putting out an official release when the video is set to drop. For now, Tiwa is working, she is busy making great stuff for her fans and everyone should just be on the look out.”  Bad is a club-friendly and radio-ready song. The song is heavy, a bit slow and deliberately catchy for the parties and social gathering. Wizkid sings in his usual pop style and Tiwa marries his efforts with marked artistry and balance Both artistes have a controlled rendition on Bad and it hits you with the swoosh sound of a cool breeze upon first listen.

Both singers have the ears of the listeners with the indigenous lyrics and solid drums that play all through four minutes of the song. Tiwa Savage dropped R.E.D. her second studio album on Wednesday December 16, 2015 at Spice Route, Victoria Island, Lagos. The concert was hosted by media personality Fade Ogunro. The dance and romance themed album featured Wizkid but their collaboration, Bad, did not make the earlier cut which dropped and was available for free download in 2015. However, the song is now available on the deluxe version of the album which dropped in February 2016.

This marks the third nomination for Wizkid while Yemi gets her second nod in the category

 

Wizkid and Yemi Alade have been nominated for Best International Act Africa at the upcoming BET Awards 2016.

This makes it the third time the Starboy is nominated in the category while it marks the second time Yemi is nominated.

Wizkid was joint winner with Ghana’s Sarkodie in July 2012 in a keenly contested category which featured nominations from fellow Nigerian, Ice Prince; Camp Mulla (Kenya); Lira (South Africa); and Mokobe (Mali).

Other nominees for this year 2016 Best International Act Africa include Diamond Platinumz, Cassper Nyovest, AKA amongst others.

Both Wizkid and Yemi Alade  failed to win the award last year 2015 amidst a controversial snub of the show arguing they were disrespected by the BET organisers for presenting the African artistes their awardsbackstage.
