Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha and Abubakar Sani Bello, Governor of Niger State were spotted this morning at the Protocol Lounge of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, shortly before boarding an aircraft to Benue State.

Kogi Governor Declares War Against Kidnappers

Kogi State Governor, Mr Yahaya Bello, has declared a total war on the kidnappers and cultists that have laid siege on the state.

The Governor’s decision was contained in a statement on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Media and Strategy, Mr Abdulkarim Abdullahi.

The Governor’s declaration followed the abduction of the traditional ruler of Elete community, Aminu AhmedAku, in Ajaokuta Local Government Area of the state in northern Nigeria by yet to be identified persons.

Receiving the sad news like others in recent times, he decried the incident which was on the increase even though his efforts to reduce crime rate in the state from what it was before he was inaugurated have been yielding positive result.

Governor Bello vowed to ensure that those behind the recent immoral acts were fished out and made to face the full weight of the law.

He said the kidnap of the monarch ranked among the high profile cases of such acts in a very short time.

The statement further stated that the Governor had donated 12 operational vehicles to the law enforcement agencies in the state to combat crimes while he urged them to step up action by embarking on aggressive man hunt on criminals in the state who have constituted themselves as a threat to lives through kidnapping.

Meanwhile, some kidnap cases were recorded in Kogi State in the last few months in which some victims are still under the custody of the kidnappers who are demanding for ransom before they are released.

The ongoing construction includes a  drainage system that will tackle the flooding int he area and also a dedicated bus route which will take traders to and from the market to reduce traffic around the market. Governor Ikpeazu had since hinted on plans that his administration is making efforts to ensure that Made-in-Aba products take over major Nigerian markets soon. Ikpeazu was recently in the news for his bold decision to boycott eating of foreign rice. The governor, it was gathered, has refused to take foreign rice in the last six months as he has reportedly struck it out of his menu. His reason is that he wants to demonstrate to everyone that Nigeria, with her rich agricultural potentials, has the capacity to fend for itself in food production.
